We are a NO BUYERS PREMIUM and NO RESERVE auction facility!
Methods of Bidding Available:
Live-In-House Bidding: Our auctions are always offered LIVE. Therefore, you can attend ALL of our auctions in-person. This allows the bidder complete control of their purchase experience which we make as seamless as possible. This also gives the bidder the opportunity to view and inspect the items physically right up until the item reaches the auction block. Our professional and educated staff members are available throughout the day for any questions that may arise.
Phone Bidding: For bidders who are unable to attend our auctions live in person, phone bidding is available. This is where one of our staff members would physically call you. The staff member would call several items prior to your item coming up to ensure that they could get you on the phone, introduce themselves, and explain how the process works. Once your item reaches the auction block, we allow the floor (the live-in-house bidders) to take presence, our staff member will let you know where the price is at as the bidding is going up. Once the bidding has slowed down, our staff member will state the current asking price and simply ask you for a “yes” or “no”. This method allows the bidder to have more freedom with their bidding without being in attendance.
Absentee Bidding: For bidders who are unable to attend our auctions live in person, absentee bidding is available. For this method, you would leave the maximum price you would be willing to pay for the item and our staff would bid on your behalf. At no point does this mean that the bidding starts at that price. We always allow the floor (the live-in-house bidders) to take presence. Once the bidding slows, if we are still within your price, we would bid on your behalf at the current asking price. If the bidding stops, that is the price you pay. If the bidding continues, we will continue bidding on your behalf until we reach your maximum price or the bidding stops. If you are confident in your limit, or are unable to be on the phone, this method is a great option.
Online (If Applicable): For certain specialty auctions throughout the year, we offer online bidding through AuctionZip and Invaluable. This allows bidders complete freedom to bid live from their home or wherever else they may be. In this case, bidders would be charged a buyer’s premium to cover the cost of putting the auction online. This entices bidders to bid through us or attend in person where there is never a buyer’s premium.

Auction Previews:
For each auction we hold, a preview time is available for customers to come and examine the items prior to the day of the auction. This allows time to have any questions answered and also provides a time for those who are unable to attend the actual auction to leave phone or absentee bids. The auction preview typically takes place the day prior to the auction, however; that can vary based on the type and location of the auction. Preview times are always listed on the page for that specific auction.
Our Pictures:
We pride ourselves in the quantity and quality of our pictures. We do this so that our pictures can be your eyes and so that you can be confident in the items you are bidding on. Every single item is pictured, many are pictured several times from different angles.
Condition Reports:
We offer condition reports for every item we sell. This means that if you ever need additional pictures or want a more detailed description of the condition or markings on an item, we will provide that for you. All you have to do is call our office at 717-334-6941 or email info@reddingauction.com and we will either respond with the additional information you need or have one of our experts call you to go over the item while they have you on the phone. Our job is to make sure you are as comfortable and confident as possible when bidding.
Purchasing Firearms (If Applicable):
Redding Auction Service, Inc. if a fully licensed auction facility. This means that everything is done the correct way. With any purchase of a “registerable” firearm, meaning that the firearm was manufactured after 1898, you must go through a background check to leave with the firearm. We have an area and staff designated to just running background checks on auction day which allows us to work through this as quickly as possible. If you are bidding via absentee or phone bids and are unable to come and pick the firearms up, we can ship the firearms to another federally licensed dealer located near you where you can complete your background check. If you purchase a HANDGUN and you live OUTSIDE of the state of Pennsylvania, we must ship the handgun to a federally licensed dealer in your state where you can complete the paperwork. We aim to make this process as easy and efficient as possible while conforming to all laws and regulations associated with the sale of firearms. A $14 registration fee will be added for EACH “registerable” firearm purchased if we are doing the paperwork at our facility. You can easily determine if a firearm in one of our auctions is “registerable” by a simple “R.” Every firearm is given a number, if the firearm is “registerable” there will be a letter “R” directly after the number.
