Registration Number is Stamped on the Yoke as “REG. 3719” – These .357 Registered Magnums Were Introduced in 1935 & Ceased Production only 4 Years Later in 1939 to Allow S&W to Shift Their Focus to the War Effort. It Was Decided to Stop the “Registration” Process for These 357 Registered Magnums Due to the Practice Being Too Costly for a Retailed $60 Revolver! Every Revolver Was Manufactured to the Individuals Specifications & a Card Was Enclosed & Shipped w/Each Gun. Once the Registration Card Was Filled Out & Returned to the Factory, the Owner Received a Registration Certificate w/Their Name & Their Gun’s Specifications on it, Such as the Registration Number, Barrel Length, Double & Single Action Trigger Pull, Yardage & Hold the Gun Was Sighted in at & Ammunition Used.
