This Lightning Large Frame is Serial #1372 and Was Mfg. in 1888. Rifle is Fitted With a 26” Round Barrel with a German Silver Blade Front & Semi Buckhorn Adj. Rear Sights. Gun Retains a Fair Amount of Original Blued Finish on the Barrel and Magazine Tube, with Traces on the Receiver, The Balance Has a Fine Plum Brown Patina. Gun is Stocked with a Straight Grip Wood Butt Stock with Factory Metal Butt Plate and Factory Checkered Wood Forearm. Excellent Rampant Colt Stamp on Left Side of Frame, British Proofs on Left Side of Barrel Below Caliber Designation. This Rifle Has a Strong 7/10 Bore with Good Rifling! While Research Shows No Production Numbers for Each Individual Chambering in the Lightning Large Frame Models, Between All Chamberings, There Were Only 4,600 Large Frame Lightnings Mfg.
