375.        Revolutionary War Era .64 Caliber Flintlock Pistol Made by Thomas Hadley of Birmingham, Great Britain – w/8” Brass Barrel & Lock – Profusely Embellished w/Silver Mountings w/British Assayer & Silversmith Proofs on the Trigger Guard Tang – Silver Escutcheon on Wrist is Engraved “Capt” Over “S. Baggot” Over “Lt Dgns” – w/Original Silver Tipped Ram Rod – Research Shows That Baggot Served in the New York Region Between 1776-1780 w/the 17th Regiment of (Light) Dragoons.  His Regiment Saw Action at the Battle of White Plains, October 28, 1776 & the Battle of Monmouth, June 28, 1778.  A Troop of 50 Men From His Regiment Fought w/Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton at The Battle of Cowpens, January 17, 1781.  Baggot Was Held Prisoner at Yorktown & Returned to England in 1783 – The Pistol Shows Evidence of an Old Repair at the Wrist
