Letter to Customers:
-
It is
hard to believe that it has been 5
years since we purchased our
family business from our parents
who founded Redding Auction
Service, Inc. in 1974. The
transfer officially took place on
October 1st,
2018, and it is hard to believe
how fast those 5 years have come
and gone. Over those 5 years, we
have had many highs, and
unfortunately some lows. Those
lows came with the passing of our
mother Clara Redding on May 1st,
2020, and most recently the
passing of our father C. David
Redding on December 18th,
2022. We also cannot forget the
unfortunate time that our country
endured through COVID-19. I have
always believed that with any
negative, there is something
positive to come out of it.
Through COVID-19 we were forced to
make decisions that I feel ended
up making us a more efficient
company overall. Losing our
parents and founders of the
company created a gap, but we now
have a new generation of family
members stepping in to fill that
gap and carry the family business
on. My daughter Brianna graduated
from Shippensburg University in
2023 with a degree in business
management and marketing, and she
was the first person in our family
to receive a college degree. My
son Cole graduated from Gettysburg
Area High School in 2022, has
completed his course for
auctioneering, and is studying to
take the state test which will
make him a fully licensed
auctioneer. We have made many
upgrades to our existing facility
with expansions and remodels, and
even purchased a second facility
located in Bonneauville, PA. We
have more than doubled our staff
since 2018 which has made this
growth possible. We have worked
very hard over the past 5 years to
give all of you the best auction
experience both on the selling and
purchasing side. We do not take
anything for granted and promise
to continue working just as hard
for all our clients in years to
come. Our family and staff cannot
say thank you enough. To show our
appreciation for your support
through all the high and low eras
over the past 5 years, at the
auction on December 10th we will
be providing all of you with a
free lunch. We will be serving pit
beef sandwiches, chips, and
drinks. We look forward to seeing
all of you as we start year number
6, which will be packed full of
more auctions and continued
growth. Thank you again, and Happy
Thanksgiving! Respectfully Pat
Redding
